The Alternative wouldn’t be complete without an alternative therapy, and our Chakra Balancing session is just that.
Chakra healing is a gentle, holistic practice that helps bring balance and harmony to the body’s energy centres, known as chakras. These chakras are little hubs of energy that run along your spine, from the base to the top of your head.
Each one is connected to different parts of your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. By tuning into these energy points, chakra healing encourages a sense of flow, helping you feel more aligned, centred, and at peace with yourself.
You know when you feel just a little “off”, but don’t know why? Or feel like you need a “something”, but don’t know what? Chakra balancing can sort that out.
So, whether you’re a ‘sage the house’ on a daily basis kind of person, or just like to try new things, this can help.
WHAT ARE THE CHAKRAS?
Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Base of the spine
Survival, grounding, and basic needs.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Navel
Creativity, pleasure, and emotional balance.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Upper abdomen
Personal power, self-esteem, and willpower.
Heart Chakra (Anahata) – Chest
Love, compassion, and relationships.
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Throat
Communication, self-expression, and truth.
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Between the eyebrows

After a short introduction and consultation about your goals, concerns and what you’d like to address, you lie down comfortably on a massage table in our peaceful treatment room. You’ll then be guided through some breathing exercises to relax your body and mind.
Following this, crystals will be gently placed on your body, which align with your chakras. As you relax, we don’t touch you but use our hands to interact with the crystals to help clear blockages, restore balance and align your energy flow. You may feel warmth, tingling or a sense of calm.
Once the session is complete, we have a chat with you and offer insights, and suggestions on how to maintain the balance.

The practice of working with Chakras has been traced back to 1500-500 BC, and is a strong foundation of many Yoga and Meditation practices today.
Like most complimentary therapies, funding isn't really put into the scientific research. However, it is gaining more attention, with scientists noting that the energy centres link to major nerve plexuses and endocrine glands.
Many people feel it relaxes them, and makes them feel more calm and centred.
